This gallery includes barrel threading and crowning, SBR conversions, pin-and-weld work, AR and AK platform work, firearm engraving, custom tooling and specialty machining. Because every firearm and project presents different requirements, many services are listed with starting prices or quoted individually after evaluation.
Nexus Defense & Machine Co. provides precision gunsmithing, firearm machining and custom fabrication services from our shop in Holland, Pennsylvania.
The prices listed below are starting prices for standard work on clean, serviceable firearms and components. Final pricing may vary depending on firearm condition, required disassembly, previous modifications, parts compatibility, setup requirements and the overall complexity of the project.
A final estimate will be provided after the firearm or component has been evaluated. We will contact you for approval before performing additional work that would materially increase the original estimate.
Barrel Threading and Muzzle Services
Barrel Threading —

Specialty Barrel Threading

Includes specialty thread specifications. Final pricing depends on barrel configuration and required setup.
Cut and Crown
Starting at $175
Includes shortening the barrel to the agreed length and machining a new crown.
Barrel Recrowning
Starting at $75
For damaged, uneven or poorly machined muzzle crowns that can be corrected without shortening the barrel significantly.
Muzzle-Device Installation and Timing
Starting at $75
Installation and proper timing of brakes, compensators, flash hiders and suppressor-mount muzzle devices.
Muzzle-Device Removal
Starting at $40
Pricing may increase for damaged, seized, permanently attached or improperly installed muzzle devices.
Pin-and-Weld Installation
Starting at $80
Permanent attachment of an appropriate muzzle device to meet the required barrel length.
Existing Pin-and-Weld Removal
Starting at $50
Removal pricing depends on the location, depth and quality of the original installation. Damage caused by a previous installation may require additional work.
Suppressor Alignment Check

Inspection of suppressor alignment using the appropriate alignment rod and mounting configuration.

Engraving of required maker information on customer-supplied firearms or components. The customer is responsible for providing the exact approved information to be engraved.
Serial Numbers and Manufacturing Markings

Pricing depends on marking depth, location, material, setup requirements and the amount of information being engraved.

Custom engraving is priced according to artwork preparation, engraving size, material, depth and complexity.
AR Platform Services
AR Upper Assembly

Pricing depends on the parts supplied, barrel installation, gas-system setup, muzzle-device installation and any required fitting or troubleshooting.
AR Lower Assembly

Includes installation of customer-supplied components. Additional fitting or correction of out-of-specification parts may increase the final cost.

AK work varies considerably depending on the receiver, parts kit, trunnions, barrel, rivet work, previous modifications and overall condition of the components.
AK Troubleshooting and Repair

Includes evaluation and correction of assembly, alignment, feeding, extraction and function-related issues.

Applies to repair, troubleshooting, fitting, assembly, modification and other work not covered by a listed flat-rate service.
Custom Firearm Machining
Starting at $125 per hour
Machining time, programming, fixture design, setup and tooling requirements are evaluated separately for each project.
Custom Tooling and Fixture Fabrication

For projects requiring specialized holding fixtures, press tooling, alignment tools or one-off fabrication.
Parts Fitting and Installation

Pricing depends on the firearm, component, required fitting and the condition of the customer-supplied parts.
Pricing Information
Starting prices assume a standard setup and a firearm or component that is clean, complete and in serviceable condition.
Additional charges may apply for:
Extensive disassembly or reassembly
Damaged, seized or improperly installed components
Previously modified firearms
Out-of-specification customer-supplied parts
Custom fixtures, tooling or programming
Rust, corrosion, heavy fouling or damaged fasteners
Test firing, ammunition or function testing
Expedited work when available
Parts, refinishing, coatings, shipping, ammunition, taxes and transfer fees are not included unless specifically stated in the estimate.
Customer-supplied parts are subject to inspection and compatibility verification. Nexus Defense & Machine Co. cannot guarantee the quality, fit or performance of parts manufactured by another company.
A minimum shop charge may apply to small jobs, inspection work and projects requiring significant administrative or setup time.
Estimates and Project Approval
Some projects can be estimated from clear photographs and a detailed description. Others require an in-person inspection before an accurate price can be provided.
Once the work has been evaluated, you will receive an estimate describing the expected services and costs. We will obtain your approval before performing additional work that would materially exceed the estimate.
